Ms Callista Lok Ting Wei

Ms Callista started dancing her journey at the tender age, influenced by both of her parents who are from a dancing background. She has experienced in a variety of dance genres, she began her Classical Ballet training journey with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) at the age of 4,  Tap and Modern Dance with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD)  when she was 6 years old and Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of 7. Currently, she is immersed in the Ballet Teacher Training 2nd year at Nutcracker Ballet Academy with the new programme of  the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Teacher Qualification -  Certificate in Dance Teaching under the mentorship of Ms Beh Sheue Nee (Ms Sheney Beh).

Throughout the entire dance journey, Ms Callista has a fruitful 19 years of dancing, performing and competition experience in her Ballet, Modern, Tap, Contemporary and Rhythmic Gymnastics. She has participate in Rhythmic Gymnastics competitions such as MSSS and MSSM. She also took part in masterclasses and workshop conducted by well-known professional Ballet Masters and Mistress such as the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Summer School 2017 from New Zealand, UK and Australia in Ballet, Repertoire and Contemporary. In 2018, she experienced an exclusive World Class Stage masterclass from Ballet West UK International masterclass at Arena of Stars Genting Highland by Fenton - Contemporary and Sonia Fajardo - Ballet. She attended a full Vaganova Workshop in 2018 by Ms Elena Chebotar, and Comdance (CSTD) Summer School 2019 and has awarded silver medal. On the other hand, she has been invited as a performer such as One Utama Dance Xmas event in 2012, Swan Performance in Genting Highland in 2016 and The Nutcracker Show with live orchestra at St. Regis Hotel Kuala Lumpur in 2019.

In the examination of Ballet, Modern and Tap she attained a 100% passing rate. Under the tutelage of Ms Sheney Beh, she has completed the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Graded and Vocational syllabus up to RAD Advanced 2 and she was one of the first batch graduate Advanced 2 student of Nutcracker Ballet Academy in 2024. Furthermore, she distinguished herself as a Distinction holder in RAD Grade 8 and Advanced 2.

Ms Callista began her teaching career at the age of 17 right after high school. She found the passion towards educating younger generation and she has been actively engaged in teaching, sharing her knowledge and expand her experience with aspiring dancers. She has strong interest in working with and developing young children. In October 2023, she has successfully graduated from UTAR and earned certification in Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (Hons) as her aim is to provide high-quality education and professional growth towards each young children.

Ms Callista is the Elite Competition Team soloist and group coach and competition registration coordinator. She trains soloist and large groups the ensemble and troupe from age 5 to 13 in competitions such as Malaysia Ballet Festival, The Malaysia Challenge Cup Dance Competition, Asia Open Dance Championship, Southeast Asia International Ballet Competition, International Youth Performing Arts Championship (formerly known as Asia Pacific Youth Performing Arts Championship), Malaysia NextGen Dance Competition and many more. Under her guidance, her award winning choreography includes Solo Repertoire, Classical Ballet Choreography and Troupe Lyrical dance piece obtaining GOLD Awards and even Top 3 Award.

 

In 2023, she was awarded the Best Teacher Award at the Youth Performing Arts Championship (YPAC). She coached an award winning self choreograph piece under Choreography Ballet Toddler age group 4 to 6 honored Distinctive Teacher Award while her student garnered recognition as Gold and Best Performer, Free Entry to Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition (HKCCDC) 2025 in the Malaysia Challenge Cup Dance Competition (MCCDC) 2024 competition. Besides, she was also honored as the Outstanding Instructor Award at the 5th Asia Open Dance Championship (AODC) 2024 with her student clinched the Top Scorer in Ballet Repertoire or Fragment age 11 to 12 category.

Ms Callista believes that "There's no shortcut to success, only the hard work and effort you gave. The harder you work, the luckier you will get." She aims to instill quality and higher standard at the same time enjoys the dance journey.
